Happy Home Cemetery - Guntersville, AL

Located in Guntersville, Alabama Happy Home Cemetery lies in a small neighborhood off Highway 431 (also known as the Florida Short Route) near Guntersville High School. The cemetery is connected to Happy Home Baptist Church which has been serving Guntersville and Marshall County for more than one hundred.

The cemetery is much the same as you will find with small cemeteries throughout the south. Veterans from several different wars have been interred here, most with military markers or acknowledgements. Happy Home Cemetery does have a unique set of monuments (that I have never again encountered). They are small cast iron headstones made as miniature doors. Through time many have been damaged, but the ones that remain complete can be open and closed, almost like a door to the other side.
